Moving Plants and Other Animisms

In the age of the Anthropocene, biological life is understood as “impure”, intertwined with the alterations human presence has brought to the world. Nature, when dead, is physically and symbolically transformed, as it later travels along as debris; similarly, plants and animals are violently extracted form the landscape, becoming a resource, an object, or a commodity. Within this frame of thought, I have (physically and effectively) re-animated multiple remains of plants and animals, in order to show how certain “natural” things can be both alive and dead.
