Other Lives sets certain “living” systems in action: partly natural, partly artificial, such systems invisibly enable the existence of the human sphere. As part of an expanded inquiry on the boundaries of life, these systems are exposed through their materiality and their own visibility outlets.
A series of mechanisms join and separate the ends of a live wire within a circuit. As this happens, fluorescent tubes are turned on and off, rendering the invisible flow of electricity visible. The resulting power fluctuations allow the installation to constantly die and come back to life.
